Latin and Ballroom every Thursday

Argentine Tango every Sunday

Sunday 5th February 2012

Classes cancelled due to snow.  I was forced to stay in with enough cake for 30 people - a dangerous situation.

Thursday 2nd February 2012

The first apearance of Rumba went jolly well.  The routine is here if you want to practice.

Sunday 29th January 2012

Cold outside, but warm in.  Chocolate cake with butter-cream icing and apple cake. Surprisingly, both were completely calorie-free.  The contrary cat that prowls the grounds came to say hello...

Thursday 26th January 2012

The second session of Cha Cha.  The routine is here if you want to practice or catch up on what you missed.  There is no way to catch up on the Apple Cake, if you missed it.

Sunday 22nd January 2012

Another splendidly well-attended and well-balanced class (as many men as women).  Also the first bake-off of the year. This pitted Christine’s massively over-rated Lime and Cardamom Drizzle Cake against my own Date and Walnut.  In a travesty of justice that would befit the boxing world, Christine’s cake won.  Even her secondary offering (the Swiss Fold- the Roll never quite happened) was delicious.  She is barred.

Thursday 19th January 2012

Cha Cha’s first appearance of the year, and that of the Chocolate Banana cake.  Both were very welcome.

Sunday 15th January 2012

The Argentine tango dancers were presented with their UKA certificates and medals. Cake was Apple and Ginger.  A triumph, if I say so myself.  Which I do.

Thursday 12th January 2012

The second session of Foxtrot.  The routine is here, if you want it.  Cake was Apple. Medals were presented to some of the examinees from the UKA exams.

Sunday 8th January 2012

Plenty of new starters to mark the first Sunday back after the festivities.  Cake was Banana.  This was horrid, as born-out by the fact that not a crumb was left from two 8.5” cakes.

Thursday 5th January 2012

First dance day of the New Year.  Cake was Mixed Fruit and the dance was Foxtrot. Excellent turnout, presumably due to pent-up dance fever, New Year resolutions, and the desire to see each other’s Christmas jumpers.
